Convite is an organization devoted to the promotion of social rights for all people. Their project, Monitoring the Right to Health in Venezuela, collects information in a timely and relevant matter to verify the current situation of the right to health in Venezuela with evidence and technical rigor, within the context of a Complex Humanitarian Emergency which is overwhelming the country. The three areas monitored are: availability of medicine, documentation of preventable deaths, and the situation of hospital infrastructure. See the reports produced in English below.

The information collected allows the public to have a sense of the current state of health in the country as well as compiling valuable evidence of preventable deaths, which serve as documentation in cases of human rights violations which can then be brought to justice with the demand of appropriate reparations.

This information is specially useful in the current context, in which the government hides official data on health as a matter of policy. Through this information, Convite has been able to make proposals for urgent interventions which can in the short term help recover vulnerable areas of our health system.

The monitoring was a collaborative effort amongst Convite AC, Stop VIH, Promodehum, Mulier and MedicosXLaSalud.
