Following an arbitrary administrative procedure, the National Commission of Telecommunications (Conatel), the telecoms regulator of the Maduro regime, has just ordered the shutting down of Aventura 93.1FM Radio Station, which operates in the city of Maracaibo and forms part of the media group noticiaaldia.com (NAD group).

This is the second action that the Maduro administration takes against the NAD group after the offices of the digital newspaper and Aventura TV were raided in February 2019, when several pieces of equipment were subtracted and the signal was taken off the air.

The person in charge of executing the measure today was the Regional Manager of Conatel, Luis Ortega, who delivered a communication to the president of Aventura FM, Julio Reyes, signed by the General Director of Conatel, General Jorge Elieser Marquez, declaring that the license granted by that same agency had expired.

The president of the broadcaster and the NAD group, Julio Reyes, said that this new action that threatens freedom of expression will be exposed to all national and international organizations for communications and defense of Human Rights, as a proof of the attack that the Maduro administration maintains against independent media that honor their duty to inform and defend the truth
